Mural Unveiling, Saturday, September 1st at 1pm, on Main Street (Johnson County Bank Parking Lot) This is a stop on the Musical Heritage Tour.
This year's mural, "...it Surely is a Train" is the first by Temple Reece. From "Train 45 to John Henry, Trains and Train songs resonate deeply with all of us. This year's mural depicts the Lopsided 3, a historic train that ran here in Johnson County in the early 1900s. GB Grayson and Henry Whitter are depicted on the back of the train. It will hang on the Smith and Cockett building beside Johnson County Bank.
